The Mirror

Koopa was unsure of this. He knew the Other was powerful enough, but he didn't know if the Other could be trusted. He was too weak in this nacent state, though, and this was his best chance. If those guardians of the Mushroom Kingdom caught wind of this act, let alone his grand scheme or even the fact that the mirror he was about to use still existed him and his son would be executed without trial. Koopa, too impatient to bide the years growing stronger, decided that this is what needed to be done. He must step foot in the Dark Realm and find Ganon.

With the last shattered fragment put back into place the mirror was finally ready to use. Koopa's son had been doing all the unpleasant grunt work for the past twenty years. Although Koopa was not one to love easliy, he loved his son. His son had brought him back to life, afterall. He even put this portal together.

Koopa looked forward, straight into the mirror, and saw naught himself. The mirror was screaming at him; hissing; begging to be entered. He saw nothing. He saw void and darkness. It was perfect, he thought. He took a deep breath and took his step.

But now it was silent. The air felt like fire. It was as if all of his bodily heat was trying to escape. Almost as if it were trying to burst out of his skin. Koopa actually enjoyed this feeling, though. What bothered him more than anything was the fact that he could not see. Everything but himself was black. He, in fact, was shining. As brilliant as the sun, almost. Although being from hell itself, Koopa was still from the realm of light. A being of light. And although it was as if a star had just taken its step through the portal, there was still only black. Nothing to behold but the shadow of another realm. Pure darkness. A perfect place for the Hell Beast, Dark Lord Bowser, he thought. He wished his son were here to share in this joy.

What lay in front of Koopa was a desert. A black desert full of hate and rage. He had come to the right place. Ganon must be here.

Wary Traveller

Another 'work in progress' of mine that I just uploaded. Took me a couple of days. Had no idea what to call it. Hope you like it. Like the last one, you can download this song for free.

Bowser's Awakening, Part One

The young one stands over the glowing book holding a fragment of his father's skull. "This has happened before and it shall happen again," he mutters. The chamber is very dark and, for the most part, silent. The faint glow of magma enters the window. He begins uttering the mystical words, but he doesn't quite finish--

Junior awakens to find a black orb in the center of the room, stagnant over the book whose pages he was reading before. An unknown amount of time had passed. He doesn't know whose blood is on his hands, but most likely it is his own. The book called for it, he's sure. Nothing foul about it. It had to be done, he's sure. He wishes he could leave the orb's side to gather the others, but sadly the others are all dead; slain at the hands of that that mage and his fairy companion, and his beloved beast. The thoughts of his departed kin were strong enough to bring unwillful tears to Junior's eyes. He even began to weep, although not heavily. At least he will have his father, the King, back. He had always considered himself lucky that his father was immortal.

As the total darkness eventually faded into the light of day and the tears on his face had dried, the black orb had become larger, now touching the ground. Junior had placed the sacred book back on the shelf; its importance immeasurable. He had memorized the remainder of its passages anyway.

The black orb was now bigger than Junior himself, but still had much growing to do. Junior was always a small being anyway. Tall for a koopa, but nowhere near as large as his father.
